It was a cool, overcast day, but everyone’s spirits soared! After Occupy / (un)Occupy Albuquerque’s problems with Yale Park on the UNM campus, it was such a relief for all to be able to hold the 11.11.11 event without any incidences and without any police. It was a joyous day as the information booth was brought out, pamphlets and other reading material laid out, and the kitchen set back up. Once again, our camp banners were hung proudly between two trees.
Below is the event description taken from the Occupy Albuquerque’s Facebook page.
“Occupy the Streets, Occupy the World, Occupy Your Hearts
Music, dancers, poets, speakers: an all day coming together event on Friday, 11.11.11, at Robinson Park, Albuquerque NM starting at 11am. Not only was this Veteran’s Day but a worldwide call of action, and a day of celebrating and practicing interconnectedness. We will march forward together.
From Wall Street: “Join the revolution, occupy the streets, the cities, the countries, occupy the world”.”
